The Strand Theatre started showing movies in the late 1920's.
It was advertised as the
"Wonder Theatre
of the Thumb".
In 1939, the neon marquee was added, it is still in use
today with it's beautiful neon lighting.

In the mid 1990's thru present, we've updated the
sound to Dolby Digital EX surround sound, new seats
with cup holders, and larger screen, but yet the auditorium,
and lobby still takes you back to the 1930's and 40's.
This
antique clock still keeps perfect time. When this
theatre was built, this clock was used by merchants
to advertise. Twelve advertisements circle the clock.
